Russian National Women return to train at the Curling Academy in November 2011
After a very successful six week tournament run in Canada the two top Russian Women’s Teams will return to Kussnacht am Rigi to train at the International Curling Academy Rodger Schmidt and prepare for the European Curling Championship December 1 – 9 in Moscow.
The Russian girls last trained at the Curling Academy in Kussnacht am Rigi last August when they participated in the Curling Academy August Sessions along with teams from Austria, Czech Republic and Switzerland.
New Instruction Manual to be out in early 2012

This Manual is being produced by the United States Curling Association and will be using the Five Elements of Instruction created by The Curling Academy Rodger Schmidt.
International Team Training Programm at Kussnacht am Rigi
The Curling Academy Instructional Season will begin August 22, 2011 in Kussnacht am Rigi Curling Hall, with a number of International Team Training programs between 22 – 29 August. This is the third season that we have been running this very successful and well received program.
We can offer the following to Teams and Individuals between 22 August and 2 September:
- Ice reservations available for training sessions and training games
- Training games vs International Teams
- Technical Sessions conducted by Academy Instructors Rodger Schmidt and/or Jean Pierre Ruetsche
- Strategy, Tactical, Mental and Team System Sessions conducted by Academy Instructor Rodger Schmidt
23./24. Juli: Trainingscamp mit Österreich in Baden-Regio
Claudia Toth skippt das Team des öesterreichischen Mixed-Staatsmeisters.
Die Curling Academy organisiert für den aktuellen Österreichischen Mixed-Staatsmeister (Claudia Toth, Christian Roth, Andrea Höfler, Florian Huber) ein zweitägiges Trainingscamp zur Saisonvorbereitung in der Curlinghalle von Baden-Regio. Im Rahmen dieses Camps bieten wir Schweizer Elite- und ambitionierten Breitensportteams die Möglichkeit, gegen das von Claudia Toth geführte Team ein internationales Trainingsspiel auszutragen.
Ausbau der Kursangebote 2010/2011
Für die Saison 10/11 wird die Curling Academy die Präsenz in den von ihr betreuten Curlinghallen ausbauen. Wir bieten dazu Privatstunden, Teamtrainings und Kurse an, die auf dem Konzept der «Vier Pfeiler – Fünf Elemente» basieren. Dieses von der Curling Academy entwickelte Konzept hat sich auf allen Niveaus (vom blutigen Anfänger bis zum Spitzensportler) bewährt und bildet seit 2009 die Grundlage für die Curlingschulung in den USA. Rodger Schmidt und sein kleines Team von Curling-Pros, die mit der Methode durch und durch vertraut sind, werden die ganze Saison über zur Verfügung stehen, um Privatstunden zu geben oder Seminare und Workshops für Gruppen zu organisieren.
